2025 AGM Outcomes – Nowra Rifle Club Committee Update

To all members of the Nowra Rifle Club,

Thank you to everyone who attended our 2025 Annual General Meeting, held yesterday at the Nowra Rifle Club. It was a productive and respectful gathering, and we’re pleased to share the results with you.

First and foremost, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Cliff Austen for his outstanding service to the club over the past nearly 35 years. Cliff’s dedication, leadership, and integrity have been a cornerstone of the Nowra Rifle Club’s identity. His commitment has always been beyond reproach, and the legacy he leaves—as both President and long-time committee member—is one we are proud to build on.

Cliff, thank you for everything. You’ve helped shape this club into what it is today, and your contribution as President has left a mark that won’t be forgotten.

2025 Nowra Rifle Club Management Committee

We’re pleased to announce the new committee, elected at yesterday’s AGM:

• President – Daniel Galea
• Vice President – Cliff Austen
• Secretary – Troy Gosling
• Treasurer – Geoff Smith
• General Committee Members – Peter Cascone, Bill Blundell, and Dane Oliveri

This team is already hard at work behind the scenes and committed to opening the next chapter of growth and development for the club. We’re excited for what’s ahead.

Day-to-Day Operations

Until further notice, all current Code Captains will remain in place, and operations will continue as usual. This gives the new committee time to meet, plan, and communicate any future changes.

We ask that all members continue to support one another, and keep conversations respectful, constructive, and based on facts—not rumours or side commentary. If something’s unclear or you need clarification, come and speak with us. If we don’t have an immediate answer, we will do our best to find one and get back to you promptly.

As Daniel said during his AGM address:

“As part of the Management Committee, we’re all volunteers. We’re not doing this for recognition or reward—we do it for the good of the Nowra Rifle Club, its members, and the promotion of all shooting disciplines.”

That’s the foundation we’ll continue to build on.
